{December 2022} What Will The New Year Bring?

December was a true holiday month this year!  With the market being quieter than past years, we went upstate and had uninterrupted time with each other.  Warmest wishes to everyone for a prosperous and happy 2023!  I caught a terrible cold from my little one at the beginning of the two-week holiday.  And it took until New Year’s Day for me to feel better.  I thought to myself: the last two weeks was just the most accurate summary of 2022!  The market caught a cold and is still trying to shake it off.   

On the market front, there was a little pop of activities at the beginning of December following some good inflation news.  But the market quickly settled into the holiday lull.  The backdrop of high rates and an uncertain economy is continuing into the new year.  A few of our sellers who took their listings off the market for the holidays have decided to wait out January to get a better reading of the market before deciding what to do.  While on break, I did receive quite a few purchase inquiries out of China.  With China lifting its quarantine requirements upon entry, we can expect more Chinese visitors and hopefully more buying from there.
