{New Development} Hudson Yards, New York
The story of Hudson Yards began in 1963, when the then NYC Major Wagner proposed a plan to
develop residential and commercial spaces over the rail yard to expand midtown Manhattan.
Multiple development efforts failed until the city rezoned the area in 2005, paving the way for
high rises and multi-use buildings.
The first building broke ground in 2012 (10 Hudson Yards, an office building). The entire project
is to include 18 buildings, more than half are retail and commercial buildings with residential
and a public school making up the rest, and be completed by 2024.
15 Hudson Yards is the first residential condo to start sales in early 2017, with asking prices
ranging between $2500/sqft to $3000/sqft. With the Hudson Yards development being the
largest planned development in the US in recent times, the project enjoys a warm reception
amongst buyers, especially international investors.
